The Rhode Island Film Acting Meetup Group is a collective of film actors from the NE area who meet once a month for a number of reasons:

First and foremost this is a great way to network with other actors, and to share resources and advice with one another. It also gives the actor an opportunity to develop their craft--not only do we develop our improv skills with exercises, but we also work on scripts either selected by one of the organizers, or written by local talent to be workshopped. We also bring in working DP's and Directors to shoot scenes with our actors--this is an excellent way to gain valuable experience with the camera, as well as give you an opportunity to meet and showcase yourself to active filmmakers in your area.

Although we cater to the 'film' side of acting and production, we encourage all types of performers to attend.

And to be absolutely clear--this is a safe environment. We do not intend to 'teach' anyone how to act, and in no way consider this a 'class.' We leave critical observation up to your acting teacher. There may be constructive critiques, depending on the project or exercise, but we want to stay away from any form of formal critiquing.
